The Indigo Speckle Vase is made at a production pottery in Byron Bay using locally dug stoneware clay.
The form is hand-thrown on an electric wheel, then trimmed at the leather-hard stage to create a clean foot ring. The glaze — a cobalt-saturated reactive glaze developed in-house over years of testing — fires unpredictably at 1280 degrees Celsius, producing the speckled, flowing surface that makes each piece unique. The interior is glazed in an unadorned white to make the vase food-safe and easy to clean.
